Our Land
Our property is three miles north of downtown Napa, on Soda Canyon Road, just off Silverado Trail. We are in the Napa Valley AVA, sitting south of the Stags Leap District and north of Coombsville.
Our vineyard sits on an ancient riverbed and slopes to a center drainage that runs east to west. The site is dominated by Coombs gravelly loam, a prized mix of sand, silt, and pebbly clay that limits vigor and leads to grapes of beautiful concentration and character. The soil’s water retention properties allow our vines to thrive in Napa Valley’s frequent drought conditions.
Mark put our first vines in the ground in 2001, planting four acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc with the help of famed vineyard manager Mary Maher, now of Harlan Estate. Miguel planted the Ribolla Gialla in 2016.
Our land is also home to an olive grove, a fruit tree orchard, and a garden, as well as chickens and lots of local wildlife.
